The Children belong to all of us
At Moms of Color, we believe that raising strong, conscious, and empowered children is a collective effort. Rooted in the understanding that “The children belong to all of us,” our Children’s Chapter is dedicated to nurturing, educating, and uplifting the next generation. This chapter serves as a space where children are embraced by a village of mothers, mentors, and community leaders who pour into them with love, wisdom, and guidance. Through enriching programs, cultural education, and community support, we ensure that every child has the foundation to thrive—because when one child flourishes, we all do.

Introducing Zen & Sekou Children’s Magazine: Educate, Empower, and Elevate Young Black Minds
With Black history being erased from schools, it’s more important than ever that our children receive the full truth—not just the version that has been edited, watered down, or misrepresented. But let’s be real—the history schools were teaching was never the true history of our people to begin with. Our children deserve better.
That’s why Zen & Sekou Children’s Magazine was created—a monthly, interactive digital magazine designed specifically for Black children, offering a powerful blend of real Black history, creativity, critical thinking, mindfulness, and current events explained in ways they can understand.
What’s Inside Zen & Sekou Children’s Magazine?
Each issue is filled with engaging, age-appropriate content to nourish young minds and help them think, grow, and stand in their truth:
Real Black History – Stories of African civilizations, freedom fighters, inventors, artists, and leaders who changed the world—but were left out of textbooks.
Current Events for Kids – We break down important news, social justice issues, and global events in a way that children can understand, so they can stay informed and empowered.
Creative Expression – Inspiring kids to use their voices through writing, art, music, and storytelling.
Critical Thinking Challenges – Teaching kids how to question, analyze, and think for themselves.
Mindfulness & Yoga – Helping children build emotional strength, self-awareness, and inner peace in a world that often challenges them.
Community & Culture – Celebrating the beauty, brilliance, and resilience of Black culture past, present, and future.
Why This Magazine Matters
We can’t rely on the school system to teach our children their worth. Zen & Sekou Children’s Magazine is here to make sure every Black child knows who they are, where they come from, and the power they hold within.
This is more than a magazine—it’s a movement to educate, uplift, and liberate young Black minds.
Subscribe Today! Let’s give our children the knowledge, confidence, and skills to shape their own futures.
